ABOUT OUR DOGS AND PUPPIES

First and foremost, our Cavaliers are our pets and constant companions, our dogs never live in a kennel. They excel as show dogs, therapy dogs and even in the rally/obedience ring. Our dogs' health and happiness are paramount to us.

All Rockfield Cavalier puppies are from health tested parents, are vaccinated (appropriate for their age), and have been cleared by our veterinarian for any health problems. They are microchipped and have been dewormed. Our puppies are raised in our home and are well socialized around people, children and other animals. We begin introducing our puppies to crates and begin potty training well before they go home. We feel that it is important for socialization and health that our puppies remain in our home until they are 11 weeks of age and have received a distemper/parvo vaccine as well as a bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine. All puppies come with a three year written health guarantee for any and all genetic conditions.

When you purchase a puppy from Rockfield Cavaliers, you not only receive a healthy, well socialized new member of the family, but you also have our support and experience for the life of your beloved Cavalier.

All of our Cavaliers are seen annually by an Ophthalmologist and Cardiologist. They have their patellas checked once a year by our regular vet and have had their hips x-rayed and submitted to OFA for evaluation at two years old. Learn more about the importance of buying from breeders who health test below:

All puppies purchased as companion pets are sold on limited registration on a spay/neuter contract, meaning they can never be bred and are ineligible to participate in some (but not all) AKC events and should be spayed/neutered at an appropriate age.

We do occasionally have show quality puppies available to approved homes. Contact us for pricing.

We do not ship our puppies, but will gladly deliver to an airport near you for a fee or refer you to a reputable pet transporter.

We are a small scale breeder and consider our dogs part of the family, therefore we do not sell or rehome our adult dogs. If you're interested in an adult cavalier, please visit the Cavalier Rescue USA website.

When Purchasing a Pure Bred Dog -

You should never purchase a puppy from a pet store or from a Craigslist Ad. Typically these puppies are a result of a puppy mill, back yard breeder or broker program. Avoid breeders who use registries such as ACA, APRI, CKC (Continental Kennel Club) or import puppies from other countries to resell. Many breeders (including ourselves) may import dogs from other countries, typically: England, France, Germany, etc. with the intention of showing and using in their breeding program, but they will never import an entire litter or multiple litters.  These people are brokers and sellers and lack the desire to breed for the proper health, temperament and standards for Cavaliers.  I encourage you to take your time researching the breeder before purchasing a puppy.  A breeder, who is diligently striving to breed for perfection, breeds for health, temperament and to the breed standard in appearance. There is no such thing as an inexpensive puppy. As I once learned firsthand, you either spend the money up front on a well bred, healthy pet, or spend 10 times that in vet bills later.
